On June 15th, 2003, in Klagenfurt, Austria, the 2nd edition of the Klagenfurt Triathlon will take place, on the olympic distance (1,5/40/10).
The staff is the same of Ironman Austria, and this is definitely an added value, because they really want this event to become as successful as the iron-event they're known for.
– We care a lot about this race – Helge Lorenz told us – we're working to make it the best olympic distance event in Austria. Our goal this year is to reach 500 entrants. We hope to make it a truly international race, to make sure it will be a nice party! –
How is the course?
– A "call" for the Ironman! The swim start will be on the same beach, on Worther crystal clear lake. The bike course will be on 4 laps, recalling the very first, flat km of the Ironman course. The run will be held on the shore, a nice, scenic lap of 3,2 km to repeat three times. The start will be at 14:00, so athletes will have a terrific support from tons of people. The ingredient we're putting together are the ones of a quality recipe!–
Helge also told us that this race could be taken as a "preview" of the Ironman race - less than a month later - an anticipation of the great atmosphere that can be key to arrive perfectly relaxed to the start of that long, iron day.

- Free drafting. ITU rules;
- Timing: Champion Chip. You can use yours if you have it - just add its number to the entry form;
- Timetable:
10:00-12:30: registration and bike check inthe transition area near the lake;
13:00: brief;
14:00 start!!!
19:00 awards ceremony.
- Fee: 40 Euro until May 31st, 50 Euro from June 1st. Aid stations, finisher t-shirt, Chip rent, diploma and a drink at the awards ceremony are included.
- Prizes: Cups for winners and medals for the first three athletes in each age group.
